Exceptional attention to Quality
Guaranteed through audited GMP processes
Proline Botanicals is a quality driven organisation, and this is especially reflected in the way we seek out high-quality raw materials and continuously enhance our production techniques and specifications.

We have applied consistency to our specifications across the range offered. We offer two strengths: 1:1 fluid extracts and 1:3 tinctures. This is designed to reduce the confusion of the varied specifications offered across a range. You will not find 1:4 tinctures blended in with 1:3s, nor will you find 2:5 for example.

Due to the problems with product leeching into poly ethylene and highly xeno-estrogenic plasticisers from polyethylene leeching into herbal extracts, we have chosen amber, recyclable, PET bottles to pack and transport our extracts. These bottles eliminate the leeching problem, while the ambering protects the valuable extracts from light.

Proline Quality

We recognise that quality is a total concept. Among the many aspects we consider when looking at our overall quality commitment are:

Cleanliness and hygiene
Selection of raw materials
Organic vs. non organic issues
Fresh vs. dried issues
Extraction techniques
Active components
Energetics and feel
Packaging

All of the above, combined with the philosophy and
integrity of the company, go to make up our Quality
Policy.

You may be confident that every ingredient and every product has been tested in accordance with our GMP status, giving you complete peace of mind that our products are correctly identified and meet the exacting standards set by Proline Botanicals.   We have created what we believe to be the United Kingdom’s most modern facility dedicated to the processing of herbs and the production of herbal extracts and tinctures.   Designed to exceed current regulations and with a view to tightened future regulations, we invite groups of practitioners to inspect our site, which is located near Stamford by appointment.

Our products are primarily cold percolated. Percolation is the more efficient of the two primary extraction techniques (the other being maceration). The basic principle of extraction is the creation of a concentration gradient between the solvent and the solute. The greater the gradient, the more efficient the extraction.   Proline Botanicals is engaged in a continuous programme of technique improvement and has investigated many techniques, including maceration, percolation, decoction, infusion and distillation. In each case we compare the profile of the original plant material to the profile of the extract, and quantify the dissolved herbal ingredients.
When one percolates a tincture or fluid extract, the solvent is in continuous motion against the plant material, maintaining a concentration gradient throughout the process. This allows for the greater extraction of those vital plant ingredients, and leads to less waste of our valuable herbal resources.

All of our processes are carried out in dedicated clean rooms, with appropriate sloping floors, drainage, extraction and surface coverings. All work surfaces are stainless steel. Each room is cleaned meticulously on a daily basis to a set procedure (monitored constantly by our QA department).
Our dried herbs and powders are stored and packed in air tight foil packs, which are nitrogen purged to reduce oxygen content. The storage of our bulk products in this way improves the overall quality of our raw materials, particularly at the end of the season prior to new crop harvests.   Proline Botanicals holds a Manufacturers License (number 27532), issued by the Medicines Inspectorate. This was granted following a rigorous GMP inspection by the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).
